  • What will the impact be on the environment?
Whilst we are committed to building a successful and profitable business, sustainability is at the heart of Magway. The pipes containing our system can be shallow or deep buried similar to those used by utility companies. Magway small physical footprint means that the impact on the environment is significantly less than building infrastructure for other transport systems (e.g. road and rail). Magway has a phenomenally high capacity for its small footprint. One pipe can transport the same amount of goods as two fully articulated HGVs per minute. This is largely down to our proprietary technology and patents that allow the carriages to be run with a 50-millisecond headway. We work closely with the UK Government’s High-Value Manufacturing Centres to find new materials and new construction techniques to further improve the environmental sustainability of the system. For example, we worked with the National Composite Centre to find a more sustainable, cost-effective alternative material for the subterranean pipes See https://www.nccuk.com/news/ncc-finds-sustainable-cost-effective-composites-alternative-for-innovative-sme/
